Every March, Houston shows up for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo — three weeks of bull riding, big-name concerts, carnival lights, and a whole lot of tradition.
But step back from the arena for a minute and you’ll see something bigger.
The HLSR is an event that’s been around since 1932 — and has since become the largest livestock exhibition and rodeo in the world. It’s an organization that has raised over $660 million for youth, agriculture, and education. It’s an event that welcomes millions of visitors each year. And it’s a name that’s become synonymous with Texas pride, community, generosity, and grit.
That kind of impact doesn’t happen by accident.
In this video, I share four wealth lessons we can learn from the Rodeo:
- Planning & Preparation Matter
- You Don’t Win Every Ride
- Long-Term Commitment Beats Short-Term Excitement
- A Strong Legacy Is Built on Purpose
The same principles that built something as enduring as the Rodeo are the ones that build lasting wealth: intention, resilience, discipline, and clarity about what you’re building toward.
I unpack each of these lessons in more detail in the video — and why they matter for your financial life today.
The question isn’t whether the ride will get bumpy. It’s whether you’re building something designed to last – and maybe help you enjoy the ride along the way.
If you find this helpful, share it with someone who values long-term thinking.
And if you’d like to have a conversation about building wealth with intention and purpose, book a complimentary financial consultation with me today. I’d be happy to talk.
