Inspired by his upbringing as the son of a bond trader, Jeff began his career working for two major investment firms. He spent a decade crafting a wide variety of equity trading and investment strategies for his clients. However, feeling that he could better serve clients with his own team—one that would treat them like family—Jeff launched his local independent practice in 2008.
Prior to his professional career, Jeff served in the United States Army Airborne Infantry. There he learned critical leadership and decision-making skills, how to perform under pressure, and how to take a stand for what he believes in. The camaraderie he felt with his platoon was the beginning of his lifelong passion for mentorship. He would later coach his sons in sports, serve as a mentor for youth in the community, and help guide talented financial professionals, including those on the Winstone team. Today, he serves on the Raymond James Leaders Council and as a member of the Association of Financial Educators.
Upon completing his military commitment, Jeff was selected for the inaugural class at the University of Houston Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He earned his degree from the University of Houston after being one of only 30 students accepted into the elite Entrepreneurship program.
As part of his commitment to professional excellence, Jeff has also completed the industry’s required licensing and examinations, including the FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65. These qualifications allow him to offer a broad range of investment and advisory services to clients across the country.
A true southerner, Jeff grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, before making Houston, Texas, his home. Jeff’s family is the center of his world; he is immensely proud of his three sons, who bring joy and fulfillment to every aspect of his life. Together, they enjoy hunting, fishing, watching football, and grilling out. When he’s not at the office or hanging out with his boys, Jeff enjoys spending time with his two rescue dogs, Abby and Sadie.
