Bobby Burks is the kind of person who makes you feel heard and valued—whether you’re making financial decisions or just chatting about life.
With nearly 30 years of experience in the industry, Bobby has an incredible understanding of financial markets and strategies. As a Financial Advisor, he’s passionate about sharing his insights with clients, helping them make wise, strategic decisions as he guides them through the planning and wealth management process. He takes time to listen and understand each of his client’s unique goals so he can help them develop a plan that reflects their values and priorities. His mission is to equip his clients with practical, proactive strategies that empower them to efficiently accomplish their goals and feel confident about their path forward.
Bobby’s journey into the world of wealth management began when a neighbor—seeing his drive and potential—encouraged him to join Morgan Stanley many years ago. He quickly found his calling. What hooked him then still fuels him now: the relationships. For Bobby, this business has always been about people—getting to know them, understanding their hopes and fears, and walking alongside them through life’s financial milestones. Whether it’s helping someone retire with confidence, sending a child off to college, or strategizing about how to help make money last through turbulent markets, Bobby finds deep purpose in being a steady, trusted presence. It’s when a client says, “I don’t know what we’d do without you,” that he’s reminded exactly why he does what he does.
A proud Cougar, Bobby graduated from the University of Houston and holds his FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses. His education laid the foundation, but it’s his decades of real-world experience—and a deep curiosity about how markets move and people plan—that have shaped his approach to wealth management.
After graduating, Bobby began his career in 1997 with Invesco. He later worked for Morgan Stanley and Bank of America Investments before spending 13 years at JP Morgan as a Private Client Advisor. In 2018, he joined Raymond James and ultimately became part of the Winstone team —a move driven by his desire for greater independence and a more personalized approach to wealth management. At Winstone, Bobby found what he was looking for: the freedom to serve clients on his own terms, without the pressure of a one-size-fits-all model, backed by the robust resources of Raymond James.
Bobby has called Houston home since the early 1970s and now lives in Sugar Land with his wife, Katie. With one daughter recently graduating from Baylor and the other attending LSU, Bobby and Katie are settling into the rhythm of empty-nest life. Much of their earlier years were spent at the ballfields—select softball was a major part of their family’s world for over a decade, and Bobby devoted countless weekends to coaching and cheering from the sidelines. While those days are behind them, the spirit of teamwork and family connection lives on as they travel to visit their daughters. Bobby also enjoys spending time outdoors and—when time allows—the occasional round of golf.
